The Ort Library is pleased to present two new displays for March.
The first display, located on the 3rd floor (by the main entrance) focuses on Irish American Heritage Month. This year the focus is on singers with Irish-American or Irish heritage. Some of the singers include Bruce Springsteen and Katy Perry. The display also highlights some books from the library’s collection on Irish music.
The second display located on the 5th floor of the library highlights the 25th Anniversary of the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska on March 24, 1989. The spill released more than 11 million gallons of crude oil into Prince William Sound. The display shows how the spill spread for the first week through Prince William Sound. Additionally, the display highlights the heavy cost wildlife paid during the spill.
The two displays will be available through the end of March.
