New Display on the Holiday of Kwanzaa

The Ort Library is pleased to present a new display, Kwanzaa: First Fruits of the Harvest, located on the third (Main) floor of the library.  The display provides a brief history of the holiday and introduces Nguzo Saba, or the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa.  Additional information about the holiday includes information on the seven basic symbols of Kwanzaa that represent the values and concepts reflective of African Culture.

Additionally, a handout is available that provides information on books available on Kwanzaa that are available here at Frostburg and at other University of Maryland System Libraries.

In addition to this new display, The Ort Library will continue to collect donations for the Frostburg Food Bank.  The donation box is located next to the new Kwanzaa display.

The Ort Library will once again offer extended hours during the last week of classes and final exams starting Sunday December 2.

Ort Library Collecting for Frostburg Food Bank

The Ort Library is continuing a long tradition of collecting food for the Frostburg Food Bank during November and December.  Currently, one of the third floor displays highlights some of the local, national, and international organizations that are working to end hunger.  The collection box for the Frostburg Food Bank is located next to this display. 

Please drop off your donations to the box located on the 3^rd floor (main entrance floor) by the 4 stand-up computers.
