New Library Displays for September 2016

The Ort Library is pleased to announce 3 new displays for September 2016.

The first display, located on the 3rd floor of the library, highlights some of the resources that the library offers, including books, DVDs, periodicals (newspapers, magazines, journals).

The second display, located on the 4th floor of the library, highlights Constitution Day, which is held each year on September 17th. This display celebrates Constitution Day and provides an opportunity to learn more about the amendment process.

The third display, located on the 5th floor, highlights the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service. The introduction of the Park Service placed the protection of the national parks under one governing body. This display highlights several of the national parks including: Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and the C & O Canal.

The displays on the 4th and 5th floors will be up through the end of September. The display on the 3rd floor will be up through September 23.

If you have any questions, please contact Theresa Mastrodonato (tmmastrodonato@frostburg.edu or 301-687-4425).

Library Highlights: Maryland AskUsNow!

Welcome back students, faculty, and staff.   The beginning of a new semester is a great time to get to know the services the library offers.  In this post we highlight:

Maryland AskUsNow! – Our 24/7 chat reference service

Imagine this:
You are working on an assignment but the library is closed.  You need to find additional resources (articles) and you are not sure where to look and need some help.  What can you do to get some help?

You can use Maryland AskUsNow!  It is your access to 24/7 reference assistance.

You can access it from the link on the library’s homepage (http://www.frostburg.edu/lewis-ort-library/).  Once you click on the link, you can ask your question and be chatting with a librarian in no time.

You can also access it through the AskUsNow qwidget located on the results screen in OneSearch. You do not even have leave the results screen to chat with a librarian.

The librarians will be able to show you how to find the information you need and perhaps even work with you on what search terms will bring the best results.  No question is too tough!
