Let the Ort Library help you to succeed!

The Ort Library welcomes our new Freshman and Transfer students this semester, and we welcome back our returning Bobcats as well!

One step toward a successful semester includes taking advantage of all of the services and resources that the Library has to offer.  You are always welcome to visit us at our service desks to learn about what we can do for you.

In addition to our service desks, next week we will have a table with volunteers who are eager to answer your questions about how we can help you! Here are the details:

Not sure what to ask? Consider inquiring about:

• Our research tools (OneSearch, CatalogUSMAI, various databases),

• Research assistance from a librarian, 

• Equipment (copiers, printers, scanners),

• Facilities (group and individual study rooms, quiet areas),

• And much more!

If you're unable to visit it at those times, just visit the library’s circulation, media or reference desks. We’re always happy to answer your questions!

Statewide Coordinator Visits FSU

Paul Chasen (far right) Coordinator for Maryland AskUsNow (AUN) service visited the Ort Library on August 23 to meet with campus providers and to provide an onsite training session.

Theresa Mastrodonato (center) serves as campus liaison for the service. Providers: Krista McKenzie, MaryJo Price, Theresa Mastrodonato, Pam Williams and Dr. Sean Henry contribute service hours.

AskUsNow is a global 24/7 chat reference service. During FY 2017, AUN providers answered 244 questions from FSU students in addition to answering questions from statewide and global library patrons.

The library will maintain the following hours for the remainder of the summer term and into the fall semester.

Monday - Friday, August 21 - 25 :: 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 26 :: Closed
Sunday, August 27 :: 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Monday - Thursday, August 28 - 31 :: 7:30 a.m. to Midnight
Friday, September 1 :: 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 2 :: Closed
Sunday, September 3 :: Closed
Monday, September 4, Labor Day :: 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Regular semester hours resume on Tuesday, September 5 and are listed below.

Monday - Thursday :: 7:30 a.m. to Midnight
Friday :: 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday :: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday :: 1:00 p.m. to Midnight

The library offers 24/7 AskUsNow chat reference service as well as email reference via libref@frostburg.edu. The Circulation Desk can be reached during open hours at 301-687-4395, and the Reference Desk can be reached at 301-687-4424.
