Choose Civility Today (and Everyday)!

The Lewis J. Ort library is proud to join the campus in celebrating Civility in Action on this Day of Civility (April 12, 2018).

We have created an online guide to resources related to civility, as well as a library display, which can be found on the third (main) floor of the Library. The online guide can be found here: http://libguides.frostburg.edu/civility.

A limited number of "I choose civility" stickers and window decals are available at this display. Please help yourself while supplies last!

Honoring the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today is the 50th Anniversary of the Assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The library has several displays honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Please stop by the library to view these displays and to add to our whiteboard on the ways you have honored the legacy of Dr. King.

You can see that some students have already added the ways they are honoring Dr. King.

Tell us: How are you honoring the legacy of Dr. King?

Rickie Arnold's First Flight - Display

To celebrate Rickie Arnold's upcoming mission, A collage of items from his first flight on 15 March 2009 is available for viewing on the easel just inside Special Collections (Library 4th Floor).  Included are: a small Maryland flag, the patch worn by the astronauts, and various photos from the Mission (including the astronauts).  In the top left corner is the certificate of authenticity that these items were in space.

At the top of the easel is the Frostburg State University ball cap that Mission Astronaut Richard Arnold II took into space.  We have a signed certificate stating that the cap was worn by Arnold.  There is also a banner reading, "Frostburg State University is proud of Astronaut Richard Arnold, II" and signed by Arnold with his year of graduation.
