The Lewis J. Ort Library is pleased to present several new displays for November.
The first display, located on the 2nd floor, celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall (1989). The display provides information on the building of the wall and its eventual removal. The display also highlights some of the resources the library offers on this topic.
The second display, located on the 3rd floor, celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Sesame Street. The first episode of Sesame Street was broadcast on PBS on November 10, 1969. The display highlights some of the characters of Sesame Street and some facts you may not know about Sesame Street.
The third display, located on the 4th floor, celebrates Ricky Arnold, FSU alum and astronaut. The display has some artifacts from Ricky Arnold's trip to space.
The fourth display, located on the 5th floor, celebrates the 160th Anniversary of the publication of On the Origins of Species by Charles Darwin. The display highlights some of the history of Charles Darwin as he traveled to the Galapagos Islands and came up with his Theory of Evolution. These displays will be up through the end of November.
